JOB OPPORTUNITY – PROJECT MANAGER

The Sclavo Vaccines Association E.T.S. is a not-for-profit organization operating internationally for over 15 years in the support to Research and Development to improve current vaccines and develop new ones. The Association, plays a key role in coordinating large EU-funded projects particularly focused on vaccines to fight emergencies, pandemics and global health.

Currently, the Association is coordinating several projects including the new EU-funded project: “European Vaccines Hub for Pandemic Readiness“, a large-scale international initiative aimed at strengthening Europe’s vaccine preparedness and response capacity. The project seeks to establish a European Vaccine Hub by aligning nationally funded vaccine R&D efforts into a coordinated network for end-to-end vaccine development and delivery. To support the management of this important project, as well as other related initiatives, Sclavo Vaccines Association is seeking a qualified Project Manager to join its team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Scientific Coordinator and the Sclavo team in organizing and implementing the scientific, technical, and administrative activities related to the management of EU-funded research programs;
  • Operational role in project monitoring and reporting activities;
  • Operational role for Coordinator’s project activities like running the programme ethical and scientific espert’s committee;
  • Operational role for interactions with other beneficiaries and partners;
  • Operational role for consultancies to be contracted for specific programme tasks.

Mandatory requirements

  • Second-level degree (Laura Magistrale, Master) in the life science field
  • Working knowledge of the basics of EU projects;
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Italian and English languages, both written and spoken;.
  • Attitude to work in teams;

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences, preferably with a focus on infectious diseases, vaccines, or pharmaceuticals;
  • Certified associate in project management (such as CAPM®)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in R&D project management;
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing EU-funded projects;
  • Specific experience in R&D related to vaccines or monoclonal antibodies;
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical R&D planning tools and software;
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently.

Preferred qualifications should be clearly highlighted in the CV. Applicants must include contact details of two former supervisors for reference checks.

Selection Process

The selection process will include:

  • Evaluation of the CV;
  • Reference checks;
  • An interview to assess the candidate’s suitability, motivation, and competencies for the role.

Working and contractual conditions

  • Full-time position, reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer
  • One-year fixed-term contract (Tempo determinato), renewable;
  • Contract: CCNL Industria chimica, chimico-farmaceutica;
  • Place of assignment is central Sclavo office, Siena, Italy;
  • Working languages are Italian and English;
  • CCNL salary and level corresponding to the experience.
